Philip Kendall, Non-executive Chairman
Philip Kendall has spent some 30 years in the City and on Wall Street in corporate finance and capital markets. Starting with Baring Brothers in London and New York, he subsequently acted as a board member of Samuel Montagu for 12 years. Most recently as a partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers he headed PWC’s practice in listed company advisory work, in particular developing their significant position in public-to-private takeovers. His extensive bid experience includes retail, media, property and financial services, domestic and international.Richard Midmer, Non-executive Director
Richard Midmer is a director of NHP Limited and a non-executive director of CareTech Holdings plc. He was the Finance Director for NHP plc from November 2000 until February 2005 and was also responsible for NHP plc’s property division prior to it being taken private by the Blackstone Group. NHP is a UK property investment group specialising in the ownership of freehold or long leasehold interests in modern purpose-built care homes, which are leased to care home operators on long-term leases. NHP currently owns over 290 care homes, with more than 14,000 beds, throughout the UK, making it the country’s largest owner of private care beds. Previously, Richard held positions within the construction and oil and gas sectors. A civil engineer by training, he was, from 1997-2000, Treasurer and latterly Finance Director of British Borneo Oil & Gas Plc.Duncan Watt, Non-executive Director
Duncan Watt has broad property transactional experience in shopping centres, offices and industrial and has 34 years’ experience in real estate. Duncan was a founding director of Parkes and Company which, after six years of successful trading, was sold to INVESCO Real Estate, where he became the Head of European Transactions until leaving at the end of 2006. Prior to joining Parkes and Company, Duncan worked for Lend Lease, Michael Laurie (where he was a founding director), Morgan Grenfell Laurie, Leicestershire County Council, Hampshire Country Council and Southampton Borough Council. Duncan is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.Bryan Galan, Non-executive Director
Bryan is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and has been actively involved in the commercial property market throughout his career. He was formerly joint Managing Director of Amalgamated Investment and Property Co Limited and is a non-executive director of Panther Securities plc.
All of the Directors are independent of Rugby Estates Plc and Rugby Asset Management Limited.
